Rio's annual Carnival dates back to the early 18th century and remains one of the most iconic festivals in the world! The week-long celebration, usually held in mid-February before the beginning of Lent, fills the streets with grand floats, vivid costumes and masks, spectacular colors, and over two millions spectators.
