Location Overview

| Not to be confused with the Portuguese city of the same name, Santarém, Brazil, sits at the confluence of the Tapajós and Amazon Rivers in the North Region. Roughly centered between Manaus and Belém, it's become a popular tourist destination thanks to its beautiful fresh-water beaches. Santarém also serves as a jumping-off point for nearby attractions such as the Tapajós National Forest and Alter do Chão, sometimes described as the Brazilian Caribbean. |
